SHAREPOINT 2010 SERVICE PACK 1 Coming Soon…

The SharePoint product team announced yesterday that Service Pack 1 for SharePoint 2010 will be available sometime late in June. But this service pack is more than just a bug fix. It will include some new features and functionality for SharePoint, including:
  • A Site Recycle Bin – Recover accidentally deleted SharePoint Sites and Site Collections.
  • Shallow Copy – The ability to move site collections containing Remote Blob Storage (RBS) elements from one content database to another without having to physically move the RBS Blobs.
  • StorMan.aspx – The return of a Storage Allocation page where you can see how much storage is being used by major portions of your farm.

NOTE
The plan browser support articles on TechNet for SharePoint Foundation 2010 and SharePoint Server 2010 will be updated with the new browser support information as Service Pack 1 nears release in late June 2011.
In addition to the new functionality Service Pack 1 provides, as with all Service Packs, it will include a number of fixes designed to improve your experience with SharePoint 2010 and will include all Cumulative and Public Updates through the April 2011 Cumulative Update.
The data below is an accumulated list of all 2010 fixes that have already shipped. These will be included in our Service Pack 1 release. This is a combination of Cumulative Updates and Public Updates. In addition to what is listed below, Service Pack 1 will contain more fixes in each product. Between now and the time of release, we will publish more details about the coming changes.
