Reconciliation, Validation, & Audit

Seems this week, whether at a client site in Princeton, with an ASUG group in Newtown Square, or with a large software company on Long Island the subject of validation, reconciliation, and audit were all the buzz. Funny how trends hit, or a topic gets bantered about so frequently and then it makes you think a tad bit longer on the subject.

In data migration, reconciliation is generally the process of making sure you have a record in the source system accounted for in the target system. As we do SAP Data Migrations using SAP BusinessObjects Data Services the facility for reconciliation is as simple as looking at the reports available. We’ve grown very spoiled with field by field, record by record reporting, but it’s an important topic for any client that is moving to a new system. The advances in the technologies and the consistent processes around our migration methodology make this an easy one to help clients achieve.
